It’s no secret that California has been one of the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic – not just in terms of how many positive cases and deaths, but also when we talk about shutdowns, mask mandates, and regulations that have limited both business and economic growth.
The hope has been that as the pandemic seems to lift its thumb off of society that the liberal government would do likewise, allowing people to regain the freedoms and normalcy they had before 2020.
However, it seems that hope may be a bit far-fetched, at least for those residing in the heavily populated Los Angeles County.
Here, mask mandate relief and open business doors have not been in existence long. In fact, some of the county’s schools didn’t open at all this past year due to fears of another wave hitting the communities.
And yet, as rumors of a “delta” variant of the virus spread, the county has once again made moves to limit resident’s freedom. That is, at least where masks are concerned.
According to KTLA-TV, new mask guidance has been put in place, recommending that everyone, the already vaccinated included, wear facemasks in indoor public places like grocery stores and family entertainment venues such as movie theaters.
The news release said, “With (increased) circulation of the highly transmissible Delta variant, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (aka Public Health) strongly recommends everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks indoors in public places as a precautionary measure.”
Now, as you might have noticed, the guideline is only a recommendation, as it is not backed by health experts such as the CDC. According to KTLA-TV, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have noted the existence of the variant. Still, they have surmised that those already vaccinated should be safe from it and therefore do not need to mask up in “public indoor settings.”
The World Health Organization, however, isn’t so sure this is the safest route to take. Like LA County’s Public Health, the WHO is “urging vaccinated people to wear masks as cases of the delta variant spike worldwide.” Of course, the WHO hasn’t exactly proven themselves to be such a reliable source as of late, have they.
Then again, neither has the CDC.
Want to know what actual science and an actual doctor has to say on the dangers of the England-derived Delta variant?
Well, like Republican Senator Rand Paul, who is also a licensed doctor, has to say, “New public England study of delta variant shows 44 deaths out of 53,822 (.08%) in unvaccinated group. Hmmm.”
Hmmm, is right.
Has he adds, “Don’t let the fearmongers win,” – which is precisely what LA County is doing.
Instead of following science, researching the actual dangers of the variant, and believing that their community can survive this and any other variant that would present itself, they have entirely given into fear.
And in doing so, given reason for an entire county, home to some 10 million people, to do the same.
I mean, is that what they really want from their constituents? For them to constantly be afraid of being exposed to a disease that, as Sen. Paul points out, has a less than one percent chance of killing you?
The answer to that is a simple yes. I mean, how else are they going to subdue the public into following their every whim? How else will leaders like the liberal and insolent Gavin Newsom be allowed to stay in power even after committing such atrocities as allowing the homeless to take over high dollar hotels and keeping children out of schools and just about any actual form of education for over a year?
The fact is they can’t. If the people know the truth and aren’t willing to cave to fear, as they have in nearly all red states as of now, it’s not any single leader who holds power. As our founding fathers intended it, the people alone hold that power.
A government by the people, for the people…
But of course, that’s not what the liberal left wants anymore. And so, as they’ve proven in LA, they’ll use whatever means possible to keep us tied down and under orders.
It’s just a shame we won’t listen anymore.
