President Joe Biden’s ability to shove his foot in his mouth and down his throat is second to none. During a recent campaign fundraiser, he asked attendees a question while trying to hype up the crowd. “Why is China stalling so bad economically? Why is Japan having trouble? Why is Russia? Why is India? Because they’re xenophobic. They don’t want immigrants.”

This horrific phrasing left everyone surrounding Biden scrambling to explain his words. All of them did a horrific job of trying to equate it to a wider message about immigration and our nation. Yet, their rush seems to have worked, to a degree. Shockingly, both Japan and India have responded with grace and humility that the babbling senior doesn’t deserve.

In a statement, the Japanese embassy said, “We are aware that the U.S. government has clarified that President Biden’s comment was made in the context of explaining that the U.S. is a nation of immigrants and that immigrants make the U.S. stronger and that his comment was not made with the intent of undermining the importance and permanence of the Japan-U.S. relationship. It is unfortunate that some of the comments were not based on an accurate understanding of Japan’s policies, and we have raised this point to the U.S. government and explained Japan’s positions and policies once again.”

Meanwhile, India kept their remarks very simple. “That’s why we have the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act), which is to open up doors for people who are in trouble … I think we should be open to people who have the need to come to India, who have a claim to come to India. I haven’t seen such an open, pluralistic, and diverse society anywhere in the world. We are actually not just not xenophobic, we are the most open, most pluralistic and in many ways the most understanding society in the world.”

Their response should tell the American people all they need to know about Joe Biden. The man either has no clue what xenophobia is or has gone so senile he cannot remember what our allies are all about. No matter the reason, he has yet again proven himself to be mentally unfit for public service. Someone who is elected President should know basic political terminology and should know about allies of the nation.

Either way, we should be happy to know these nations realize Biden does not speak for us. That babbling dementia-ridden senior does not represent me or the country I call home.
