Busted: Climate Panic Is a $7 Billion Grift — And You’re Paying for It

Despite Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) making waves by slashing waste, one particularly egregious racket continues draining your wallet: billions of taxpayer dollars handed over to so-called climate consultants who profit by peddling panic.
At the heart of this mess is the U.S. Global Change Research Program, a bloated federal initiative that’s been pouring money into fear-mongering “research” for over 30 years. Its primary role? Producing national climate reports that serve as the Holy Grail for activists pushing radical climate policies. But these reports aren’t even being written by government scientists — they’re outsourced to a partisan private firm with a deeply entrenched left-wing agenda.
Enter ICF, the group responsible for writing the last National Climate Assessment, which warns of looming environmental catastrophe unless we bow to the climate cult’s every demand. ICF doesn’t just produce these reports — they rake in contracts worth billions across numerous agencies, including the EPA and U.S. Air Force. That’s your money — not just funding analysis, but the actual messaging that fuels climate hysteria in the media, academia, and Congress.
And ICF isn’t even hiding it. On their website, they boast about winning a $5.7 billion environmental contract from the EPA, in addition to other multi-million-dollar deals. Their platform reads like a diversity seminar crossed with a socialist manifesto: “corporate citizenship,” “climate equity,” “environmental justice,” and all the buzzwords that check every woke box. Of course, almost every executive listed on their climate team is a donor to Biden, Harris, or other far-left Democrats.
So let’s be clear — this isn’t science. It’s politics masquerading as science. And worse, it’s taxpayer-funded activism. These people aren’t warning us about weather trends; they’re using government dollars to rig the political narrative and ensure a never-ending stream of lucrative contracts.
The ICF model is simple: exaggerate the threat, justify new regulations, and build a panic-based policy pipeline that demands endless funding. Their gravy train only rolls if America stays terrified. But we’ve seen this story before — the doomsday predictions never come true, the costs to families and small businesses skyrocket, and the grifters laugh their way to the bank.
And don’t miss the irony: while Musk and DOGE are out there trying to rein in government waste and slash the regulatory bloat that chokes innovation, this climate fear industry is growing unchecked — with barely a whisper of resistance from within the very administration promising to “drain the swamp.”
We’re told this spending is about “saving the planet.” In reality, it’s about keeping Democrats in power by manufacturing a crisis only big government can solve. The climate has been changing for thousands of years — we’re living in an interglacial period following an actual ice age. Some regions may get warmer, others may benefit. Humanity adapts. We build. We innovate. That’s what we do.
But instead of embracing that spirit, the left would rather cripple our economy, crush energy independence, and regulate our way into poverty — all in the name of “environmental justice.” And now we know who’s writing the playbook.
Here’s the bottom line: There is no constitutional authority to fund this kind of propaganda machine. There is no moral authority to force working Americans to subsidize their own economic destruction. And there is absolutely no excuse for Republicans to let it continue.
It’s time for the Trump administration and DOGE to turn their attention to this $7 billion boondoggle. Climate doom shouldn’t be big business — and it sure as hell shouldn’t be paid for by taxpayers.
