Five people are dead, more than 100,000 people have been evacuated (as of this writing), and the city of Los Angeles is surrounded by wildfires from every direction. In January. Fire season may have ended months ago, but when your state is ruled by a liberal supermajority legislature and a far-left climate cultist governor, this is the result—disaster can strike at any time of year. The Pacific Palisades Fire broke out Tuesday in one of the most affluent zip codes on the West Coast. Celebrities and millionaires had to abandon their luxury cars on the freeway during their daily traffic jam to run for their lives.

The enormous Pacific Palisades Fire was up to 2,900 acres on Tuesday but had swelled to more than 16,000 acres a day later. The Eaton Fire to the east in the San Gabriel Mountains has burned more than 10,000 acres and killed at least five people.

Pacific Palisades is home to numerous Hollywood celebrities like Chris Pratt, James Woods, Jamie Lee Curtis, Mandy Moore, and Mark Hamill. Or it was. The median home price in the brushy hillside community is $3.7 million. More than 1,000 “structures” (homes, garages, barns, etc.) have burned to the ground.

Fire crews are nearly helpless to battle the blaze and they are running into “Third World problems” as they try to do so. For one thing, none of the fire hydrants seem to have any water pressure on them. They hook up the hoses to the hydrants, turn them on, and are greeted by the sound of sucking air.

There’s no water!

Great job, Hair-Gel Hitler! The fire in the background of that video is the Pacific Palisades Fire happening right now. After seven years with Gov. Gavin Newsom and four years with Joe Biden in charge, this is the result: No water in the fire hydrants during the worst wildfire in Los Angeles County history!

Many of the multimillion-dollar homes that just burned down don’t have any insurance. Most of the insurance companies have pulled out of California because Gavin Newsom and the Democrats have mismanaged the state so badly. The question now is whether everyone remaining in California will lose their homeowner’s insurance because of this disaster.

Why isn’t there any water in the fire hydrants? Because the liberal supermajority government in California doesn’t obey the wishes of the voters under any circumstance.

In 2014, California voters passed Proposition 1. It was a $7.5 billion bond measure to build new water storage facilities and reservoirs. The legislature raised everyone’s taxes to pay for the bond—but not a single project has been completed in the past 11 years. Meanwhile, billions of gallons of snowmelt and fresh water from rainfall continue to pour into the Pacific Ocean every year.

Naturally, all the politicians in California are claiming this is global warming. This excuses them from malfeasance.

“It’s not our fault there’s no water in the fire hydrants! It’s cow farts!”

As for all those luxury vehicles that were abandoned on the highway when the celebrities and millionaires had to flee for their lives… they didn’t fare well. Emergency crews couldn’t get fire trucks up into the hills to fight the blaze, so they had to smash all the Teslas, BMWs, and Mercedes vehicles out of the way with a bulldozer.
