Tesla Attacker Busted by the Car’s Own Cameras

A man in Texas is facing felony charges after allegedly using a mini four-wheeler to ram into a parked Tesla—and discovering a little too late that these vehicles record everything.
According to police, 24-year-old Demarkeyan Cox was arrested after allegedly crashing his four-wheeler into a Tesla outside a Chinese buffet restaurant in Texarkana. What he apparently didn’t realize is that Teslas come equipped with a surveillance system called Sentry Mode. The feature not only records video from the vehicle’s external cameras but also notifies the owner when something suspicious is happening.
That alert went off while the Tesla’s owner was eating inside the restaurant. By the time police arrived on the scene, Cox was already gone—but not for long. Officers recognized him from the Sentry footage and picked him up a short distance away.
“He gave a fake name, which they quickly realized wasn’t true,” said Shawn Vaughn, spokesman for the Texarkana Police Department. “But based on what they saw on the video, there was no question he was the one who hit the Tesla.”
The damage to the car reportedly came out to about $1,000. The owner said she had no idea who the man was or why he targeted her vehicle.
But that may not be the end of it. Police now suspect Cox was also responsible for vandalizing two other Teslas in the area—scratching the name “Elon” into their paint with a sharp object. While he hasn’t been formally charged in those incidents yet, the investigation is ongoing.
Cox is currently being held in the Bi-State Jail on charges of felony criminal mischief and failure to identify, with bond set at $105,000.
The motive remains unclear, but this isn’t the first time Teslas—or Tesla facilities—have been targeted in what looks a lot like politically motivated attacks. In recent months, there’s been a troubling uptick in hostility toward the company and its CEO, Elon Musk. From arson at Tesla dealerships to incendiary devices planted at charging stations, it’s become clear that Tesla’s mere existence is enough to trigger the unhinged fringe of the far left.
And the media? Mostly silent. In fact, some outlets that once gushed over Tesla’s “green energy” mission have gone dark since Musk began openly defying progressive orthodoxy and promoting free speech. When they’re not ignoring the attacks, they’re excusing them—or worse, applauding them under the radar.
Federal authorities aren’t turning a blind eye. The FBI recently formed a task force to investigate what it now considers a pattern of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties.
As for this latest incident, Vaughn said it serves as a reminder: Teslas don’t just drive themselves—they also watch everything. “This guy thought he could attack a car and get away with it,” he said. “But technology had other plans.”
In an age where the Left constantly lectures America about “tolerance,” this string of anti-Tesla attacks exposes what that really means: comply or get crushed.
