President Donald Trump’s fiery 100-day interview with ABC News turned into a trainwreck for the mainstream media after reporter Terry Moran accused the administration of “photoshopping” an image of MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia. The interview, intended as a milestone recap of Trump’s first 100 days back in the White House, instead devolved into a direct confrontation over media lies, gang crime, and fake news.

Moran, echoing a left-wing talking point, casually claimed that a widely circulated photo showing gang symbols tattooed across Abrego Garcia’s knuckles had been “photoshopped.” The image, which had annotations labeling the gang sign letters, was accused of being manipulated—an assertion the president found laughable.

“That was Photoshop?” Trump shot back. “Terry, you can’t do that. They’re giving you the big break of a lifetime. I picked you because—frankly, I never heard of you, but that’s okay.”

Trump then pounced on the broader media narrative, accusing outlets like ABC of willfully spreading disinformation to protect criminals and undermine his administration.

“This is why people no longer believe the news—because it’s fake news,” he said. “And, by the way, ABC is one of the worst. I have to be honest with you.”

Moran tried to steer the conversation to Ukraine, but Trump wasn’t finished. He circled back to the legacy media’s role in downplaying President Biden’s mental decline and defending violent illegal aliens like Garcia.

“We had a president that was grossly incompetent. You knew it, I knew it, and everybody knew it,” Trump said. “But you guys didn’t want to write it because you’re fake news.”

The confrontation hit another boiling point when Moran asked if Trump trusted Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate in good faith during the peace talks. Trump hit back hard.

“I don’t trust you,” Trump said bluntly. “I don’t trust a lot of people. I don’t trust you. Look at you. You come in all shootin’ for bear. You’re so happy to do the interview. And then you start hitting me with fake questions. You start tellin’ me that a guy whose hand is covered with a tattoo doesn’t have the tattoo.”

Trump then accused Moran of being “dishonest,” a claim the ABC reporter meekly denied.

The interview’s most explosive moment centered on the ongoing debate over Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a violent MS-13 gang member who was deported despite protests from Democrats and the media. Trump has repeatedly cited Garcia’s criminal history—verified by two immigration judges—as proof that his administration’s hardline deportation policies are working.

Despite that, media outlets have clung to discredited narratives, attempting to portray Garcia as a victim of mistaken identity or administrative error. RedState previously debunked those claims, pointing out that the annotated gang photo was used to explain symbols—not fabricate them.

The ABC interview wasn’t supposed to be about Garcia. But the moment Moran repeated a debunked talking point, Trump made it clear he wasn’t going to sit quietly and allow more media gaslighting.

ABC had already made waves by sidelining high-profile anchors like George Stephanopoulos and David Muir in favor of Moran, a move some say backfired spectacularly.

Trump’s takedown of Moran wasn’t just a mic drop—it was a larger condemnation of a media complex that has bent over backward to shield Biden-era failures and sabotage Trump’s comeback.

And with polls tightening and the president’s approval ticking upward after his first 100 days, it’s obvious why the legacy press is in panic mode.

What happened Tuesday night wasn’t just an interview—it was a takedown. And Terry Moran walked right into it.
